For over a decade, husband and wife team Sachin and Babi Ahluwalia have been making some of the most decadent embroidered textile design for much of the couture and designer world (think studded blazers and intricately beaded necklines, and you get the picture). Two and a half years ago the couple, looking to establish creative control over their artistic vision and wanting to reach their consumer directly, launched their namesake collection Sachin + Babi. The pair continues to use embellishment to great effect, but they also design sleek separates that employ interesting details like detailed pleating, sheer inserts and an unexpected fabric mix.
